I wasn't surprised to see that this book was written by someone involved with a magazine as it is like reading a really long magazine article, complete with magazine-y type images of models. This book is for fans of this style of writing that most of all want to lose a bit of weight, but that also don't want to have to give up bread to do so or make really drastic changes to food preparation and so on, and that feel it is important to keep up to date with all the latest super fruits available.

Thi I wasn't surprised to see that this book was written by someone involved with a magazine as it is like reading a really long magazine article, complete with magazine-y type images of models. This book advocates eating equal parts fat, protein and carbs, making sure you don't eat too few calories and eating what the author says is real food.

This is pretty okay advice, and better than you get in so many health books.

Well it would be except that the author includes a whole host of very unhealthy foods in the 'real foods' category. Listed in this book as healthy choices are breads, waffles, crackers and all sorts of breakfast cereals, canned pumpkin and other canned foods, bottled juices, fat free and low fat dairy products, egg white omelettes, canola oil spray, soy milk and so on.

As Gary Taubes, Dr Schwartzbein and so many other have explained in their books. Popcorn is not a great weight loss snack that leaves you feeling satiated, if you have problems with insulin etc.! Far from it.
